We’re just regular folk who are enamored of local food. We see the need to increase our food security in the region because it’s healthier, it’s better for the environment and it just makes so much sense. Lyn Adamson started the Challenge 5 years ago now, here in Powell River BC. This year the challenge is in 6th year and lasts from Aug 5-Sept. 23, 2012! During this time, challenge-takers are asked to commit to eating as much of our regular diet as we can from local sources (raised, grown, foraged, processed, picked – or purchased from vendors who have done so –within 50 miles of Powell River, BC).
