Thanks to the Powell River Peak, tireless supporters of the 50-Mile Eat-Local Challenge and the Edible Garden Tour for publishing a story in this week’s paper about the Edible Garden Tour. You can read that story here.

The tour is on Sunday August 8, which is also the first day of the 50 days of the eat-local challenge.

A digital version of the 2nd Annual Edible Garden Tour Guide is available right now! Just click here.

Hard copies will be available by the weekend at these locations around Powell River:

  • Breakwater Books at Marine Ave. and Alberni St.
  • Ecossentials on Marine Ave.
  • Kingfisher Used Books on Marine Ave. (under the bowling alley)
  • Mother Nature on Duncan St. just east of Joyce Ave.
  • Springtime Garden Centre in Cranberry
  • Rainbow Valley Pet & Farm Supplies at the corner of Duncan & Manson
  • the Open Air Market

The tour is entirely free and self-guided. 5 gardens and a composting demonstration will be open from 9:00 AM to noon; 5 more will be open from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. For lunch, we invite people to drop by the Open Air Market or check out the lunch buffet at Manzanita in Townsite, which will feature local and delicious food.

Hey, have you signed up for the 50-Mile Challenge yet?
