Snacks in the Kitchen: By Nola Poirier



Snack time!

In the photo album of my childhood, there’s a black and white picture labeled ‘Snacks in the Kitchen.’ The photo depicts my brother and me, wet from swimming and eating what, I’ll admit, appear to be Oreos. We look pleased – of course we do. My childhood was spent in Bermuda, where we had banana trees for the daily picking, drinking water caught on the roof of our house, easy access to a warm oceanic playground, and, it would seem, a ready supply of snacks in the kitchen.
