50-Mile Eat Local Challenge in its 6th Year

It begins with salmon... berries. A tad later than usual, but just as tasty.

It’s the 6th annual Powell River Local Food Fiesta: for 50 days (Sunday, Aug. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 25th) we challenge you to make at least 50% of your food (by volume) local: grown, raised, foraged within a 50-mile radius of Powell River (or purchased from others who have done so)

Sign up for the 2011 Challenge: here

It starts up with the 3rd annual Edible Garden Tour on Sunday, August 7. This year, Transition Town Powell River has joined The Powell River Food Security Project to host this special event! Details on that to come on these pages.
See you there!
